McCALL'S FARM STAND
Wednesdays are the perfect farm stand day. Stop by McCall’s farm stand between 2pm and 5pm for some of the freshest produce around. They can also be found at the Volcano Farmer’s Market at Cooper Center Sunday mornings. At the very end of Haunani Road, on the left. You will see signs when they are open.
AFTERNOON WINE TASTING

SHOP LOCAL IN VOLCANO
Have breakfast with the locals at the Volcano Farmers Market at Cooper Center. The market starts bright and early at 6:30am, and is almost sold out by 9:30am. You’ll find lots of treasures to take home, plus an incredible assortment of vegetables, mushrooms, honey, and ready to eat breakfast and lunch creations.

Head down to Pahoa for even more market finds. The Makuu Market is open from 7am - noon on Sundays.

Turtles at Punalu‘u Black Sand Beach
Just past Pāhala on your left, watch for the signs. This is an easy to access beach - just park and walk. The turtles love to sun on the warm rocks.
Punalu‘u Bakery
The southernmost bakery in the united states and a beautiful place to stop and grab a snack. Try their famous sweet bread. 8:30am - 4:30pm, every day. www.bakeshophawaii.com
South Point
The southern most point in the US. See if you’re brave enough to jump off the cliff!
Green Sand Beach
It’s a long hike to the green sand beach (longer than you expect!) so if you’re not up for the trip, hitch a ride with one of the many locals who park nearby.
Exhausted? Thirsty? Drink like a local!
Believe it or not, Kilauea Military Camp’s Lava Lounge, located inside Volcanoes National Park, is the locals bar. Go past the steam vents and you’ll see the little cabins on your left. The Lava Lounge is located just behind the main office, next to the post office and across from the general store. Food can be ordered from the Bowling Alley (yes, the only one on this side of the island!). 4pm - 7pm Sunday - Thursday, 4pm - 8pm Friday - Saturday. Pepe‘ekeo Scenic Drive
Follow Highway 19 north of Hilo, between mile marker 7 and 8 on the right. You’ll see a sign for “scenic drive”. The GPSy Tours app is great for trips like this!
Hawai‘i Tropical Botanical Garden
A beautiful walk garden-filled walk to the ocean. The paths are steep, so wear good shoes and definitely bring bug spray! 9am - 5pm, every day. Last entry at 4pm. www.htbg.com
Akaka Falls

Honomu Goat Dairy

Rainbow Falls and Boiling Pots
